Objectives or work area of “Labor Cell”

  • Labor Cell will mostly be responsible to resolve labor unrest of our member factory.
  • If someone (employer/employee) file an application to BKMEA, On receipt of such an application, the Precedent or the Board of director authorized by him in this behalf shall take measures settling the claim raised under both the parties, through discussion or conciliation meetings with the employer or authority concerned.
  • Facilitate worker or workers for getting the wages and other legal dues through conciliation at any stage of his or their employment including at the time of employment or under retirement or on termination or dismissal of employment, etc.
  • Ensure the application of Industrial Relation endeavor to promote mutual trust and faith, understanding and co-operation between the employers and the workers of our member factory.
  • To facilitate the dialogue mechanisms and relations between employers and workers, particularly at the workplace level, as a means for preventing disputes.
  • The development of the conciliation and arbitration mechanisms into a more credible, trusted and transparent system.
  • Building the capacity of workers and employers to engage in dispute settlement and collective bargaining mechanism.
  • Effective use of the dispute prevention and resolution mechanisms.
  • Handel – sudden closure of factories, Lay off, Lock out, Closure of establishment, Stoppage of work on behalf of BKMEA.
  • Different types of labor related crises in the readymade garment sector.
  • Facilitate the factory owners to file a suit in the Labour Court on behalf of employers organization for settlement of the issue in Labour Court.
  • To train our worker and employers for sound Industrial Relation of our member factory.
  • Bargain with the worker or union or federation on behalf of BKMEA for sound industrial relation.
  • Represent employers organization to formulate or amend law relating to industrial relation.
  • Nominate representatives of the employers organization formulating dispute resulation or sound industrial relation.
  • Lessoning with ministry of labor and employment, ministry of Home affairs, industrial police, DOL, DGFI, NSI ………..etc. for the betterment of sound industrial relation in RMG sector.
  • Supervise/Monitoring, industrial relation in member factories.
  • Attending meeting in different forum like CMC, ILO, Employers federation etc and bargain for RMG sector regarding Industrial relation.
  • Receiving training from home and abroad and deliver this training outcome to the member factories for the betterment of sound industrial relation in RMG sector.
