At last the historic countdown starts for the 6th Knit Exposition. On January 25, 2012 at Tokyo, Japan, the curtain is finally going to be lifted, thanks to the invincible entrepreneurs from the most promising sector of Bangladesh. This time more than hundred leading manufacturers are going to showcase their unique products with their thirty two stalls. It also marks the historic shift under the leadership of BKMEA President AKM Salim Osman from conventional ideas about expositions which are generally arranged in Bangladesh. In 2010, Japan imported total $ 12.64 billion worth of knitwear products whereas at the same time, the total export of Bangladesh knitwear was $ 9.48 billion. So Japan is one of the most potential market destinations for us. Against today’s reality, BKMEA maintains that we can no longer afford to remain in wait for costumers to come in and be introduced with our stylish products. We must pursue proactive marketing strategies to survive the completion from our rivals. |

To sustain in the competitive global market, we have to come up with quality products to win the race and here the skilled force can play a pivotal role in increasing in productivity. So the urgency for skilled workforce has always received a special consideration. Lack of skilled labor force has always been the major obstacle to the development of RMG sector in Bangladesh. In order to address this scarcity, BKMEA is has already established a well-equipped training institute at Narayanganj. We hope to start its activities by January 2012. The state of the art Training Centre is designed to provide all facilities available at an advanced institute along with expert faculty members. |

It could not be compensated with any available word that best describes the most gracious posture that the people of Japan and its government rendered to us by declaring the rules of origin to two stage to avail Japanese GSP for Bangladesh knitwear sector. We will certainly remember their generosity with utmost gratitude and reverence. The phenomenal support that we received during our tours to Japan from Japan Embassy in Bangladesh and Bangladesh embassy in Japan has been instrumental in pursuing our case in Japan. We also highly acknowledge the continuous supports from Bangladesh Government notably from Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in our entire efforts to the end. All hard work finally culminated in the ultimate achievement the relaxed rules of origin to avail Japanese GSP for Bangladesh knitwear products.
We can reach the furthest and we can easily bag the success as we are guided by immense agility and flamboyance of quality products. The claim was manifested once again following the declaration by Japan government for the relaxation of existing rules of origin.
