BKMEA has published a Hand Book on Social Compliance“Compliance & Relevant Laws: Guide Lines for Implementation”. The Book is in Easy Bengali for quick understanding of owners and labors. It is priced Tk 200.00. BKMEA member factories will get the first copy free. The book Contains 4 Chapters:

Chapter 1: Guide to Make a Social Compliant Factory: This chapter contains basic guide line for making a socially complaint factory.

Chapter 2: Factory & Labor Laws: Frequently required Factory and Labor laws are included in this chapter. Following laws are included here:

1. The Factories Act, 1965 & The Factories Rules, 1979
2. The Employment of Labor (Standing Orders) Act, 1965
3. The Maternity Benefit Act, 1939
4. The Payment of Wages Act, 1963
5. The Employment (Record of Services) Rules, 1957
6. The Minimum Wages Ordinance, 1961

Chapter 3: Guide to Construct a Safe Factory Building : This chapter contains high lights of Bangladesh National Building Code, general guide line to construct or expand a factory building.
